They're good photos but the guy or girl who took them doesn't seem to have a credit for them?

These Wimbledon Rangers photos were taken - it appears - 20 years ago. Martin Elliott appears from time-to-time in Posts on various speedway pages on Facebook. The team used to race on a track in a park near to the now being demolished Wimbledon Stadium. Is the cycle speedway track still there?

The track is still there and although not in the best condition it is still rideable. I often pop over there for a bit of training. It wouldn't take a lot of work to bring the track up to current racing standards. Attachments:

It wouldn't take a lot of work to bring the track up to current racing standards. It would be great if there could be a revival of racing at the track. I was especially a visitor there in its closing seasons and also have great memories of a special reunion on a Sunday late in the track's racing era. I met many former speedway riders who had also been skid-kids at this event, and my old cycle speedway team boss from the 1950s the late great Vic Duffy was also present. What a wonderful day that was.
It would be great to see a revival of the track - there is only one other cycle speedway now in London, and that's in the East End which is too far for me to ravel to these days.

Although East London is only 22 miles from where I live, it takes me around two hours to get over there. Garrett Park, I can reach in less than 40 minutes. I would love to resurrect racing in Wandsworth but I certainly wouldn't be able to do it my own. I've got a feeling the council wouldn't be very receptive to the idea though. Chris
