The small town of Ayr in North Queensland has a speedway track that in its heyday produced many riders who became well known in UK.
Names like Steve Koppe, Bob Spelta, Terry Casserly, Mike Farrell and Merv Janke learnt their craft there in in the seventies. In later years many youngsters had their first rides on this, to name a few British style circuit in the cane fields
Many British riders remember the hospitality of the folk up north
The book follows the opening in 1974 to the present day. It includes a tribute to all Queensland riders and has many original photos.
