And if i remember right the Dressing rooms were at one end of the stadium and the pit were at the other end and you came out from the dressing rooms and up a trapdoor and on to the center green and had to walk to the pits.

White City's top riders for the three post-war seasons from 1977 were Kai Niemi, Gordon Kennett, Marek Cieskak, Steve Weatherley and Trevor Geer. They were bugged by low attendances and even after winning the British League title in 1977, they still could not attract paying crowds. Former riders Danny Dunton and Bob Dugard were the White City promoters at this time. Although league racing failed, for some seasons afterwards main individual events were held at White City.

I seem to remember the Rebels top man was "rider replacement" for Dag Lovaas who never rode the season they won the 1st Division.

Was it the Oxford licence that got transferred to the White City to enable them to get into the British League Division I ?

Offhand, I think you are correct and it was the transfer of the Oxford licence that brought White City back into speedway in the 1970s.
