Between 1930-1933, the championship was a series of match races in an eight heat competition at Wembley. It extended to nine heats in 1934.

The meeting was at Wembley & 1930 riders were - Vic Huxley & Jim Kempster (Wimbledon), Jack Ormston & Colin Watson (Wembley), Roger Frogley (C Palace), Harold Tiger Stevenson (West Ham), Frank Arthur (Stamford Bridge), Triss Sharp (C Palace) was injured, couldnt ride, replaced by a Southampton rider. Coventry, Hall Gree & Leicester were also represented (Acknowledgement to Maurice Jones for this info)
