What London clubs did Westy Westwood ride for. I have looked in the team sheets on the site but cannot see his name anywhere.

Arthur Westwood rode for Lea Bridge in 1933. Before that he had a spell with Wimbledon Dons.

Arthur Westwood was probably better known as a promoter in the seasons just before and after the war. I think he also ran tracks in Europe after the war.

I show Arthur Westwood riding at Sheffield (EDTL) 1929, Hall Green (SL) 1929, West Ham (SL) 1930, Wimbledon (SL) 1931, Southampton/Clapton (NL) 1932, Clapton (NL) 1933
I would be interested in any other activity in his racing career

“My friend, Arthur Westwood, a mediocre rider but a good writer, made sport of me in his weekly column in Speedway News. “Lanky Jack”, he wrote, (that being my speedway nickname) starred in a fashion at High Beech last Sunday. The only parson’s son in speedway and the only rider ever to have a poem in The Listener, he fell off in all four of his heats, contributing nothing to the meeting except some jolly good laughs.” Thus wrote Jack Jones (Emrys Reynolds Jones) whose biography I am writing. (Scan down www.thaigirl2004.blogspot.com to get the picture.) But I can find nothing about his speedway career. From about 1935 he rode for Leabridge and Clapton and that's about all I know. I'd kill to get a copy of that alleged Speedway News. Are there any archives of Speedway News or of entrants and results that I could search? And I'd love to have a photo of Jack as speedway rider. Can anyone give me any leads? I'd be more than grateful as this is a major part of Jack's life which is a complete blank. Andrew Hicks PS I'm totally ignorant about speedway, but my uncle did win the IOM Junior TT in 1929!

From 1936 onwards Arthur Westwood concentrated on promoting tracks, several of them including Birmingham. They were all members of the National League Division Two. Post-war, Westwood from 1947 to 1949 was the promoter at Tamworth in the National League Division Two, and later went on to promote in France (Buffalo Stadium Paris) and Belgium (Antwerp). So far as Jack Jones, I cannot help you no can I see him listed for any of the London teams listed on this forum, but I am certain someone out there does know something about him...
