Was the New Zealander Patrick Pawson, who rode for Wimbledon at the end of the 1970s the son of former Harringay and (I think) Poole rider Freddie Pawson. That would also make Patrick the nephew of Ernie Pawson who was at Crystal Palace in 1939 and with Eastbourne in 1947. Also, where did Patrick Pawson ride in New Zealand?

It's all correct in regard to Patric Pawson, his father Freddie and uncle Ernie. I an not certain where he rode in New Zealand but it could have been Palmerston North.

Kind regards Andy There's not a great deal to be found about Patrick Pawson. I quote what I found on another website: "Patrick was a New Zealander (from Christchurch) who came over to Plough Lane in 1979 to join Larry Ross, and also made a couple of appearances for Exeter the following year, I believe. He was there alongside Dave Brewer (Tatum didn't appear until 1983). Born April 20, 1957, I suppose the highlight of Pat's career was scoring a couple of points in our huge win at Hackney (56-22, I think)."
