I wonder how many people who are not on the internet turned up to watch what they thought would be a match against Swindon?

More in hope than anger I have just sent this email to the SGB: "Since Tuesday there has been speculation as to the reasons of the ‘postponement’ of the Rye House v Swindon fixture. No specific reason has been given by either club, while ‘postponement’ has never been mentioned on the SGB website!!! However, I do note that a forthcoming Rye House v King’s Lynn fixture is still listed.
"It may not be of concern to you but the reasons for the ‘postponement’ have generated much debate by speedway fans both in forums and FACEBOOK.
"I do feel it important that the SGB makes a comment in regard to what is happening at Rye House as soon as possible."

The SGB weekly update is rather late this week! I wonder if it's because they are uncertain what to say about the Rye House ongoings?

I remember Rye House on the long-gone 440 yard cinder track with its steel barrier safety fence in the mid 1950s. And Sunday afternoon crowds of 3,000. Riders included Al Sparrey, Jimmy Heard, Mike Broadbank, Brian Brett, Gerry King, Charlie Cheshire, Vic Ridgeon, Dave Still. All more than 60 years ago.

STATEMENT FROM BMR SPEEDWAY Firstly, we would like to thank all our supporters, dedicated staff and volunteers for their hard work and continued support throughout the season. It is with great regret that the Rye House Rockets have been forced from the Premiership league following the cancellation of the meeting at home against Swindon on 27th June 2018 by the BSPA. Our proposal to the BSPA securing the future of the Rye House Rockets was categorically rejected. We would like to clarify that BMR Speedway Limited continues to operate and remains committed to seeing Speedway as a major part of the future at Rye House Stadium. The future sees Speedway continuing at Rye House for the remainder of the season and forward into 2019. Updates will be provided on our website: www.ryehouserockets.co.
