I now think there will always be a low response to messages posted on the forum for several reasons.
Firstly because for a forum dedicated basically to speedway racing in London, most of the historical factors in regard to the sport since its 1928 start at High Beech have been aired fully - and in their time created some excellent debate.
One can only say so much about what has happened in the past. I think by and large that factor has basically been achieved on here.
Then we must consider and accept that so far as London itself is concerned there are no speedways. As a result, Londoners still interested in the sport console themselves with activities at Lakeside Hammers and Rye House - neither really in London.
Since the forum's start nigh on 10 years ago it has attracted just below 300 members. In that time, for various reasons, many of them have gone from the forum.
To be realistic it would indicate that now abut 10 per cent of that 300-plus membership are still active - if my maths are correct that means 30 people.
Going even further into basics, many of those would only be readers of Posts rather than participating in the threads that are brought forward.
In this respect, much the same appears to be the case elsewhere with the FACEBOOK group with the same title as this forum. It appears to me that only a small number of members actively participate in the threads and photos that appear.
Where does that leave this particular forum?
BUSINESS AS USUAL. Whenever I feel a topic in regard to speedway racing or associate activities in London needs bringing to light I will do so. The forum is still very much in business while I hold the administrative role. I have just one more word to say about the forum - ENJOY!
