Trev Redmonds appearance at reserve has some history to it. Originally 5 riders tied in qualifying for the 16th place - After a run-off Danny Forsberg of Sweden & Birmingham took the final spot with Alan Hunt & Graham Warren taking the reserve spots. Basse Hveem & Trev were eliminated. After that things started to happen - Bert Roger broke his collarbone in a crash, so he was replaced by Hunt with Basse moving up to reserve. Hunt then broke his collar-bone and was subsequetly replaced by Warren with Trev joining Basse at Reserve. In the Final Forsberg scored 9 and Warren 5 on the night. After all that neither reserve got called upon to ride on the big night at Wembley anyhow.
