1947 Cundy Trophy (as per Stenners 1948) was won by our old friend Geoff Pymar (New Cross) but no scorers are listed there

Hi I just bought a Speedway star from 1967 & there's an article about Tommy Croombs (my distant relation) & it says he won the Cundy Trophy in 1930 (his 1st season) and again in 1932, but you say 1932 & 1938. Which is correct?

I did a google search re Cundy Trophy winners but no luck. I also went on the West Ham/Custom House website and Cundy Trophy winners are not listed there either. Just because the Speedway Star gave an alternative list of winners does not invalidate what's already on here. Just what does the Speedway Star say and who was the source of their article? I think I know another reference source that might help to solve your query but I'll need to time to try and get an answer. I'll be back.

Sorry no luck. I went on Speedway Researcher to see West Ham results for 1930, 1932 and 1938 but at the moment the site's results for the Hammers only run from the 1946 season onwards.
On a second thought regarding the London Speedways list they look solid IMO as the give the actual dates for the meetings.
