This comment from the website is very wrong. After the move to New Cross for the 1934 season, the Palace operated a team briefly in the league at the start of 1939. Only open class speedway events were staged between 1934 and 1938, and again in 1940.

In 1939 Crystal Palace rode @ the Firs, Norwich on 1 July and lost by 34-50. The team was Charlie Appleby, Charlie Challis, Ron Clarke, Keith Harvey, Bob Lovell, Mick Mitchell, Les Trim, Vic Weir. This was the 10th match in Division Two they had ridden and only won once, 56-28 v Stoke. The Palace had lost the other 9 matches. They withdrew from the Second Division on the day after they rode at Norwich. They had also taken part in the early season English Speedway Trophy (Southern Section) where they had no better record. I think they also took part in the National Trophy. Their best performance came against Hackney Wick in the EST (S) match where Keith Harvey excelled and virtually singlehandedly put an end to the Wolves hopes of becoming Sectional wnners allowing Norwich to get the honour and enter the final v Newcastle (Harvey then joined Norwich and rode in the Final for the Stars)
