SATURDAY NIGHT HAMMERS FEVER
Saturday night Speedway action arrives at the Arena Essex Raceway this week as the Vortex Hammers face their toughest test of the season so far with the visit of the highly fancied Coventry Bees.
The Hammers will be looking to keep their own Play Off hopes on track after missing the opportunity to win at Wolverhampton on Monday and with Co-Promoter Jon Cook feeling the team has still not reached its full potential.
Says Cook: "May's fixtures pit us against all the title favourites with Coventry first up. We are currently averaging two points a match, Play Off form, but I feel we still haven't seen the best of our team. Saturday is a very stiff test and with the return on Monday we will have a greater view of our abilities over the Bank Holiday weekend."
Steve Worrall will again deputise for Adam Ellis while Lewis Bridger will be taking to the track if he comes through Wednesday's British Semi Final at Rye House having decided to ride through his current problems.

COUNTDOWN TO SATURDAY SPEEDWAY AT THE RACEWAY
The Bank Holiday weekend is fast approaching and all roads lead to the Arena Essex Raceway on Saturday night as the Vortex Hammers take on one of the favourites for the League title, the Coventry Bees.
Co Promoter Jon Cook states: "The weather looks set fair for our toughest test yet. It's a perfect night to welcome new and returning fans to the excitement of a night at the Speedway."
The Meeting starts at 8pm with the pits open until 7pm and the admission price for 16 year olds and under is only £1, as it is for all fixtures in 2014. Adult admission is £17, with concessionary reductions for OAP's, Disabled and Students.

SATURDAY START TIME CHANGE
The Vortex Hammers eagerly awaited Saturday night clash with Coventry will now start with the first race at 7.45pm preceded by the Parade of riders.
The change has come after talks with the Highways Agency via the Raceway landlords.
The Hammers Co Promoter Jon Cook explained: "The Highways Agency are suspending works on the Dartford Bridge until 10.30pm on Saturday as our meeting, as per our Friday matches, are regarded as major sporting events likely to increase congestion.
On a Friday this is normally 11pm so we felt that we would bring forward our time slightly to allow wriggle room in case of unforeseen problems to allow the many hundreds of Kent based fans a more relaxed and quicker journey home."
