The 1947 season saw only three matches in the series and the Aussies were not happy with this arrangement but the "English" Control Board, just as in 1937, had the last word. In a change from pre-war arrangements Belle Vue did not have a Test Match. The first in this series was at the Odsal, Bradford track, and then the other two in London
