Did the American rider Cecil Brown ride for Stamford Bridge in any Southern League matches in 1929 or compete in any major individual championships.

Cecil Brown was a starter in that year's Star Riders Championship but, at the way the Southern League was constructed - to keep out the top riders - it's unlikely he rode for the Bridge in the league.

According to my listing for 1929 Star Championship Stamford Bridge riders were ................... England Section - Gus Kuhn and Overseas Section - Art Pechar
Gus Kuhn lost in the first round to Roger Frogley (Crystal Palace) who then beat Ivor Creek (West Ham) in the second round and got a bye in the semifinal to reach the final where he beat Jack Parker (Coventry) who had beat Jimmy Hayes (Southampton) in the first round, got a bye in the second round, beat Colin Watson (London White City) in the semifinal to reach the final
Art Pechar lost to Billy Lamont (London White City) in the first round, Lamont then lost to Frank Arthur (Harringay) who beat Vic Huxley (Wimbledon) in the Overseas final. Huxley had beaten Ron Johnson (Crystal Palace) in round one and Sprouts Elder (West Ham) in round two
These results were picked out of an article by Don Gray some while back
I cannot find Cecil Brown listed among the Star Champioship Riders for 1929

Cecil Brown is on the right in the photo. It is from 1928 but there is conjecture as to if the photo was taken in Australia or at High Beech.Attachments:
