Dudley 55 Rye House 16 (abandoned at Heat 12 – result stands) (National League; Tuesday, August 28th 2012)
Rye House scorers:
Jason Garrity R/R Luke Chessell 0 (4 rides) Ben Morley 7 (5 rides, inc 1 as a TR) Shane Hazelden 2+1 (4) James Sarjeant 4 (4) Brad Tokley 0 (2) Connor Coles 3 (4)
Oh what a Raiders team. Very poor and I don't see it getting any better. Maybe time to persuade Barrie Evans into a come-back - and also to help Lee Strudwick to finance his riding activities. The team frankly has been a disappointment all season in my view and I don't think it will get any better as we progress to the last match of this campaign.

The decision to leave Barry Evans out of this season's Raiders side was very wrong. He was an inspiration to the younger riders and has been missed. What is Barry doing these days? Has he just given up in disgust? I no longer have any time for the National League and even less for the Anglian Junior League. As competitions and inspirational speedway racing they don't give me any sort of buzz. Yes, the match highlighted was definitely what it's been called - a flopperoo!

This message on the British Speedway Forum is worth noting. Well at least members on this site will not be surprised to end it's the end of the Rye House Raiders - at least for the forseeable future. How long will the Sittingbourne venture last where the council has an 8.30pm curfew which means a 6.30pm start for the proposed Monday meetings. I am sure a lot of the local people in Hoddesdon will continue the follow the Raiders - and the other venture for speedway in the Sittingbourne area although on Sunday afternoons wasn't exactly a crowd puller with the local population! Let's hope now Len Silver has put the Raiders out from Hoddesdon the ridiculous Anglia Junior League venture follows suit.
