This probably is not the right day to recall this ill-fated poll venture. But today - Christmas Day 2020 - has rekindled thoughts on membership activity and the worth of this group at large. For now, please enjoy your Christmas holiday - forget the virus dominated era we are suffering under. Come the start of the year 2021 I will raise some important matters in just what this group has achieved over past years and how its future prospects look. YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED.

There are important factors to consider in regard to this group. Basically as follows: (1) There has not been a bona fide London club since Wimbledon's closure in 2005. (2) The forum continued by embracing the two clubs nearest to London in travelling terms - Rye House and Lakeside. Neither will be operating in the foreseeable future. (3) Since its inception 12 years or so ago this forum has steadily researched much of the history in regard to the sport in London since 1928. It is unlikely at this stage that more of any significance will be added. It means that the general status of this group will only be visited for research purposes rather than carrying any major new research material. (4) At the present time much appearing in the forum is of photographic happenings from seasons gone by. This will continue. (5) As a forum London Speedways would welcome any comments that members may have in regard to this forum's status. ****I WOULD APPRECIATE OPINIONS FROM MEMBERS IN REGARD TO MAINTAINING A CONTINUING INTEREST IN LONDON SPEEDWAYS. Thank you very much.

It is disappointing that there has been no response to this item. Basically - is there a future for the forum or should it just start to lie dormant?

Hi John, from last messages, votes eff you will know that I would love for the forum to continue. I appreciate that the content has changed from the original format owing to the demise of London tracks. However, if we do not have sites like this we could lose the interest in London speedway that might deter potential promoters from trying again.
I live in hope that somebody might otherwise I am bound for Ipswich when my heart is in West Ham!
Regards Bob

Thank you for your response Bob. Rest assured THE FORUM WILL CONTINUE. There is NO DOUBT that content wise over the years since its inception this forum has gathered much background data in regard to the sport in London. One might say almost an Encyclopaedia. Sadly, after some 15 years without a GENUINE London track (respects to Rye House of recent times) there will increasingly be fewer people interested in what happened on the London speedways between 1928 and 2005. BTW my first track love was New Cross who I first saw in action as far back as April 1946.
