I have seen elsewhere two seasons when this league may run - 1935 and 1938. Which is correct?

I know nothing official about this competition. Over the years I have heard that Luton, St Albans & Dagenham rode in the Sunday League and Tommy Price, Englands first World Champion, rode in the Luton team. I have no proof of these being correct and with no proof I will not make these "facts" up

It is now established that there was an amateur league running in 1938. This does not mean it was the only such competition in the 1930s and one must strongly assume that there was also a league in 1935. That would have been the season because it would appear that was the only season in which Luton staged meetings (as a junior club to Wembley and hence the link with Tommy Price).
