The name of Arthur Pilgrim has come up on two sites. One claims that he rode before the war, starting in 1937. The premise is that as Arthur lived in Chelmsford, Essex, he probably rode at Dagenham. Does any member know if this is correct as he may have been in the 1938 Sunday Dirt Track Dagenham team or that of Romford who track shared that season.

Arthur Pilgrim rode for Romford (based at Dagenham) in the 1938 Inter Club League, my records do not show any League activity for him until after the War. I would be interested on any information on his 1937 or 1939 Speedway activity

I think there was some mention of Arthur Pilgrim on the World Speedway Riders Association site last year but cannot remember if it gave much detail about his actual pre-war speedway career. Do a google search to find the WSRA site.
