Pre-war from 1930 to 1939, Keith Harvey rode for London tracks at Stamford Bridge, West Ham, Wimbledon and Crystal Palace. After the war he rode for New Cross 1946 and 1947, retiring in June aged 50 years and six months. keith harvey[/img] Attachments:

Keith Harvey was the oldest speedway rider at 50+ when in the New Cross Rangers line-up in 1946, as per Stenners Annual

My latest research (see London Team Squads 1940-44) shows that Keith Harvey also rode for Wembley in an away challenge at Belle Vue in 1940 (during the war years period).

Keith Harvey, born Verulam, South Africa, 1896 was the last rider from the 19th century to be active in 1947 when he appeared in some of the opening meetings of the season for New Cross. His London tracks included Stamford Bridge, West Ham, Wimbledon, Crystal Palace and New Cross. The only other 19th century rider active post-war was West Ham's Colin Watson who retired after being seriously injured at Bradford in June 1946.Attachments:
