Rye House features very strongly on the site. Go to the category London Speedway History, then on into London Tracks. Rye House items and photos are listed there.
Re your query: I am baffled at the moment but there was a policeman who rode at Canterbury in the early 1970s. Again the name escapes me...it could be the same rider.

Yes it was the same rider - John Hibben. He rode at Rye House around 1969/70 in some of their Championship meetings when it was a training school - These meetings used the best trainees and some Second Division riders such as Dave Jessup, Barry Thomas, Peter Seaton, Brian Foote etc. Think he eventually signed for Canterbury. If you want exact details I do have programmes for some of those meetings - (the Rye House ones) . . .

Can any member please give details of the seasons when there was no speedway at Rye House. This site shows the following which needs modification. Thanks. Admin, London Speedways.
RYE HOUSE. Opened May 27 1934. Address: Rye House Stadium, Rye Road, Hoddesdon, Herts. In 1999 Rye House entered a team in the Conference League - most home matches took place at Mildenhall.
