Can anyone help me with any info on Jack Dalton, who was with New Cross in 1936, 1937 and also rode for Bristol in the same period. I think he only rode odd matches for both clubs, so may well have been a second half rider. Anything you can tell me would be a great help.

There's a reference to Jack Dalton on here - www.bebo.com/Profile.jsp?MemberId=5392907934and also here but you'll need to some scrolling through the messages. From what I can see Jack Dalton was linked to New Cross as far back as 1934. www.speedway-forum.co.uk/forums/index.php?showtopic=49890

Many thanks thebaldeagle1932 Every little helps, You could be right about his links with the club going back to 1934. These names pop up from time to time and nice to know a little about these lesser lights in the sport.

Jack Dalton was riding at Luton in 1935. This track ran also in 1934 and 1936 so it's likely Dalton also competed there in those seasons.

Forwarded message from Herts Racer: Jack Dalton appeared in a couple of National League meetings for New Cross Lambs in 1934. In 1935 he was a regular member of the non-league Luton team before returning to New Cross the following season. Although he failed to make the Rangers side, he made 5 appearances for Provincial League side Cardiff followed by a further dozen meetings for Bristol. In 1937 he made 9 appearances for New Cross in what appears to have been his final year.

As mentioned in an earlier Post, Jack Dalton developed a serious illness from which he sadly passed away.
