Welling Wings were one of Kent's finest teams. They last ran around 1955 when Vic Duffy took over the side as rider-manager.

As one of the founder members of the Wings and one of the riders in the photo, I can confirm that it shows the Wings original team. The riders, left to right, are: Roy Harvey, Mick Mould, Fred Pallett, Ron Wills, Colin Thompson, Ralph Ambrose, Tommy Sackman, Barry West (captain), Derek Brown, Ronald Syndercombe (manager).

I remember riding in at least one home match for Welling Wings when Vic Duffy was in charge. He was also running several other teams at the time. I know it was a home match against a side from Wembley. I rode under an assumed name (but it was registered to me) as Jack Brodie. Others in the Welling team that night were Paul Galea and John Brown. The match must have been sometime in 1955.
