Can anyone recall an Australian named Harry Denton riding in just one match for Harringay. Probably a home meeting and sometime between 1948 and 1953. Sorry the details are so sketchy.

I have done a quick trawl of Harringay results on the Speedway Reseracher and cannot find the name of Harry Denton either as a Harringay team member or in the second-half of meetings. I think you are getting confused with Danny Dunton, maybe?

Harry Denton rode at Kings Lynn in the 60s both in Sidecar & Speedway. As Harringay Speedway closed earlier than that I cannot imagine Harry riding at the Green Lanes track

I don't think Harry Denton ever rode speedway at Harringay. I think the starter to the topic is confused with that great personality Danny Dunton who was English.

I think you are right in that assumtion crossed hammers. In the past I had contact with the late Harry's daughter through Jim Blanchard's site forum about Harry coming to ride at Kings Lynn when that track started. Harry Denton lost his life in a track crash in Australia a few years back from my memory. Danny Dunton was the President of the W S R A but lost his leg in a road accident and is now a wheelchair user to get about. The W S R A site has a page about Danny.
