A guess at this -
Vic Ridgeon, A N Other, A N Other, Jimmy Heard, Geoff Woodger, Dave Slater, A N Other, Vernon Brown (or Dave Still)
On machine is Stan Bedford, who was the skipper of Rye House.
I dont recall the team being the "Roosters" until later seasons in the S A L.
Maybe the 2nd man is Derek Clark & George Kay as Manager
Other riders I mostly remember from those days were Bill Simpson & Charlie Cheshire. Bill was, like Dave Slater, a Wembley junior, but I cannot see either him or Charlie on the photo.
Mike Broadbanks, Gerry King, Bobby Croombs, Ronnie Rolfe, Les Searle, Alan Lunn and Jim Chalkley came later during the teams time in the S A L whilst Jimmy Heard moved on to join Eastborne in later years

The rider second from left (next to Vic Ridgeon) is Derek Clarke (ex-Harringay) while the bloke in the raincoat is Rye House boss George Kay. Last two standing on right are Vern Brown (I think) and Dave Still.

I am glad my guesses about Derek & George seem to be agreed then. I could not make up my mind about the end of the back row, either Vernon or Dave (who I remember being called Don) but your naming both next to each other is probably right. The odd thing about the photo is that Bill Simpson rode just about every match for R H that season but doesnt appear on the team photo. I have the Riders Champ final programme and Bill is in the team photo shown in it. Charlie Cheshire is also. The team colours are in the form of a Quartered Shield on this photo also. From memory the Wembley track had 3 juniors, Dave Slater, Bill Simpson & Hec Mayhead. Hec was a New Zealander who rode also for Plymouth and I think it was being from NZ that he was not allowed in the S A L. I can remember Johnny Gronow (Australian) and some bloke Mauger in the S A L though. Also Ray Cresp and the Conway brothers who did ride in the S A L. So the rule was, as usual, sloppy in its use. (Things dont change in Speedway, even after 50 odd years, it seems)

And the Canadian rider Mike Tams rode a few very successful matches for Ringwood, then got banned. I think after he won the 'Silver Sash' match race title, maybe?

Yes Mike rode a few times in the S A L. I had missed him from my list. Sorry to have missed an oldtime great
